Cynthia Flaxman Frank

Cynthia’s work as a graphic designer carries over to the canvas and informs her subject matter and process - symbol, icon, ephemera, and text, reproduced, repeated, and collaged. There is whimsy and wordplay across the may series I revisit - the resulting images comprise the pages of her personal narrative. Cynthia serves as Senior Lecturer in the Art & Art History Department at the University of North Carolina Charlotte. Summer finds her in Truro, her childhood summer retreat, creating art in her home studio
